2.2 DTi Clutch, DMF and CSC

What sort of price should I be looking at for the parts and/or labour?

Looking on EuroCarParts it's near on £900 just for the parts, surely it can't be that much?

I read somewhere this week someone got the parts for a CDTi for around £350......can there be THAT much difference?

Halfords autocentre told me they will do it for between £700 and £800 but it will take most of a day

Ring around as many local clutch specialists as you can find... they will be able to get the parts cheaper & usually have a set labour price for the job... it's approx 6hrs labour btw

Can I ask why you want to change the dmf? Is it rattling?

If the clutch is just slipping i'd hold off until you've looked at the dmf for replacement, it's a myth that bit has to be changed when doing the clutch. Even the luk instructions state that you should inspect the dmf and replace if required

Thanks John, I'm just preparing for "worst case scenario" really.

Plus if I don't change it and it goes in 10k I'll have to pay the labour cost again, which is pointless.

No worries mate, thats the reason they are so expensive compared to cdti ones though.....they very rarely fail

I think the fact that it's a 6hr job would justify doing the lot in one go rather than having to revisit at some point

better to change the lot as the labour will be about the same regardless so if the dmf goes in the near future you'll be paying for the labour twice. ring around. you should get it for about 650 supply and fit all in at any specialist garage. if you search on here there'l be lots of recommendations. i saw some but forget who and where they were.
