Default cd70 screen causing climate control panel to fail

    hi everyone
just wondering if anyone has a spare cd70 navi screen that i could possibly borrow for a week as my climate control panel went of a couple of weeks ago, took it to my local vauxhall specialist and the computer is pointing the problem at the screen but before i have to fork out alot of money for a new/used one he said if i could get hold of another one to try before hand to make sure that it is the problem, any help on this matter would be much appreciated
    thanks again

Have you done the age old trick of fully disconnecting power to the display?
better still disconnect the battery for a couple of hours.

    Usually clears most technical glitches.
If not, did the technician check the Code Index and Variance configuration of the display. Just to check that the climate control is programmed in correctly.

Have you done anything to the car, or has this occurred out of the blue?

If it is a new display that is needed, then you may need to talk very nicely to your bank manager.... they are far from cheap items.. and then there is the cost of programming in.

I wonder if you have the same problem that i had a few months ago, my climate wouldnt light up or show the temps on the colour screen, Vauxhall wanted 280 quid for new panel and said a second hand one would not work......BullS..t, I bought a second hand one off the bay and it plugged straight up and worked, the only thing you need to check is having exactly the same one, you cannot mix pre facelift cc with facelift it wont work, looking at your pic your one will have the white cirlcular line around the middle knob so you need one of those ones like mine, any other will not work HTH, mine was a bargain at 65 quid, when Vauxhall plugged it up before all this happened they couldnt tell which part wasnt working but i can't see its your cd70 playing up just the climate panel i would say, if the rest of cd70 is working leave it alone !!!!!!!!

I have plugged a facelift dual climate control into a preface and it worked fine, it eben showed more stuff like 'eco' on the bottom of the screen. I have also plugged in a facelift CD70 plus its screen into a preface and it worked fine. The preface was a fullcan car though.

There is an issue that Robsey is pointing towards, my climate controls used to go blank ss well. It happened with no matter what stereo it fitted. It was a Tech2 issue. Answer his questions and he should be able to tell you exactly what you need to do. He does know what he is talking about.
