    Default Wheel Refurb

Well the car got sent in to have the 19" VXR rims refurbed whilst I was on Holiday in New Zealand.

Got royally screwed by the company that refurbed them however. Said the tyres had no tread so they "legally" couldn't release the car to my old man who was picking it up. (Thats a load of crap since its not their call on whether or not the tyres are road worthy, its purely their job to repair rims). Since I wasn't in country the only person they could contact was my old man, who essentially had to agree. So $1200 later for a crap set of tyres (Can buy them from any tyre shop for $500 a set) and $1200 for the refurb (Apparently ALL the rims were buckled.... Once again have no proof to deny this as they didn't provide any images) I've ended up with a good looking set of Wheels.

Side note, for the 3 days it was in their workshop, it was driven a total of 100KM's and was also picked up with a flat battery as they had left the lights on..... Will be going in tomorrow morning to complain.

And Beautiful New Zealand (Was meant to be a skiing Holiday but didn't snow until the day we left...)

Nice pics but I hope you give refurb firm both barrels. "If" the car had 4 illegal tyres and 4 buckled rims, why were they driving it around?

grumpy, I hope for their sake they were driving it around on either different rims, Which would be very rare since the 5x110 is VERY rare, or as you said, driving on buckled rims, Hopefully I find out tomorrow.

GTS, its the wintertime in the southern hemisphere, so yes, Wintertime in NZ. We arrived around the time of opening ski season (usually around 30-50cm of snow on the slopes) only to find all the ski slopes in the area had 1-3cm of snow.... Luckily for us, we have been given a full refund and seasonal discounts for the next few seasons.
I'll post a whole car shot in 2 weeks time when german car day is on. (Front lip and non-broken front bar will be sprayed by then, along with the rear OPC diffuser and chav looking exhaust )

The last pic is of me ultimately too drunk to care about all the over costs of the rim repair in NZ. :P
