Default CIM CHANGED NEED TECH2 in OXFORD AREA HAS ANYONE CHANGED A CIM BEFORE?

    Hello All,

Have been having problems with my CIM in my Vectra C GSi. I have already got opcom and bought a new CIM from Vauxhall with the correct part number for my registration plate. I de-paired (deleted transponder keys and reset the CIM) the old CIM, and fitted the new unit.

Entered the security code correctly which worked fine. When I went into OPCOM and into the CIM to select the 'replace/change CIM' option, it seemed to do nothing. Almost as if the function is unavailable.

I even tried to do add the transponder keys and it says programming failed.

Has anyone managed to do this yet?

There should be an ident number on the plastic outside of the cim, such as XU, HU etc. Does the old one and the new one have the same ident number?

My old unit is GK, with an 8 digit part number. I rang Vauxhall in Abingdon, gave them my reg, we cross referenced part numbers, to which he said the replacement to GK, GL, and GM CIMs is a DL. So, they said they had a DL in stock which I went to pick up. I fitted but unfortunately my Opcom is unable to programme it. I know the part is correct.

But having said that, I don't know if Opcom is or has ever been able to programme CIMs, I just wondered if anyone has been able to or not with their unit?

Opcom will not program any replacement parts seconhand or new, Cim or BCM. I has to be re-programed by Tech 2.

    Sorry boss.

Wasnt sure if I was allowed to post the link as it was a guide and not specific to do with Chinese Op-Com's.
