Rear end creaking.

Well after months and months of endless creaking noises coming from the rear end of my Signum I finally solved what the problem(s) was.

Firstly I noticed when I closed the tail gate there was play in it when closed. So I adjusted the strike plate. Now nice and tight no creaking from that. But I still had an annoying squeak when going over rough roads, but it sounded different from the creaking tail gate.

So I was out giving the car a good clean today and polishing out some minor marks on the bodywork. Whilst polishing out a mark around the rear lower quarter I happened to push against the rear light unit, which produced a high pitched squeak. Sure enough after tightening the light unit up, 2 minute job, all is quiet in fact seems like I'm driving a different car as it was so annoying.
After months on and off of trying to find that creak/squeak, looking at suspension joints, springs even the exhaust..............simples

Just thought it may help if others have had annoying squeaks on their Signum........check the rear lights first

how did you adjust the strike plate i have an annoying creaking/squeaking rear end which i will check everything possible
