    Default 2.2dti cutting out!!

    Hi,
Got a worrying problem with my 53 plate 2.2dti Signum. About a month ago while on the M25 the car/spanner light came on on the dash and all power was lost, managed to coast to the hardshoulder turned the ignition off then started the car again drove a little way and the same happened again and then once more. Stopped at the services for a while then started the car again all seemed well no lumpyness or anything so carried on my way. Since then the cars been fine.............. until tonight, it did the same thing on a busy roundabout, got it started again drove a short distance then it did it again, got it started again and it seemed fine took it all the way through the rev range no problem. I've done a search on the board and found some references to crs going into limp mode but mine looses all power.
Anyone else had this happen?? I guess I'd beter get in touch with a dealer.

Could be the (becoming somewhat common) split boost hose problem.

That's a start for you. Have a good read through that and see if you think that's what maybe the problem on yours.

If it's totally dieing then also get them to have a look at the fuel pump.. they're electronic so may be the cause of the breakdowns..

Well it feels like its totally dieing but it actually drops down to a very lumpy tickover (feels like 100 rpm) and won't pick up until it's turned off and back on again but it is totally undrivable when this happens.

Yep - it will be (as long as you're under 60K). Get it in quick!

Well the car has now been into the dealers and they diagnosed a faulty throttle body which was replaced within an hour. Initial reaction is all's good but time will tell as the fault happens without rhyme or reason.
    Fingers crossed.

I had a similar problem on my veccy and found it to be the boost hose. mine split (god knows how!?). all i did was get some silicone piping from local TMC for couple of quid and was sorted.
