Default Roof spoiler painting the cheapskate way...

Got fed up with my roof spoiler sitting around and not being able to afford to get it sprayed professionally as I've been quoted silly money to spray it up.

So, a quick trip to my local dealers and I bought three 150ml cans of Vx paint in Ultra Blue complete with three cans of lacquer and bought a small can of primer from Halfords.

It's not gone 100% perfectly but so far I'm pretty damned pleased with it.

The primer on it was slightly damaged when it was sent to me, so I wet and dried the whole thing down getting rid of any rough bits of paint and then re-sprayed the whole spoiler with primer.

    All primed back up again.

I let it dry for 24hours and then flatted it back with 1200grit wet and dry.

Then multiple coats of the Ultra Blue paint (until I ran out basically lol).

Then start lacquering, the first three coats or so went great, but I over-did it a bit on the later coats and ended up with a couple of runs, but the plan is to keep coating it with lacquer, then flat it back after a few days of curing time and machine polish it back up. Fingers crossed that should do the job lovely.

Overall, so far (apart from the couple of runs) I'm really happy with it, just hope it comes out ok after flatting back and polishing. Potentially saved myself £100 if it comes out ok.

Way too windy to be doing it outside, front and back doors were open for ventilation and I could control how much by opening and closing them as needed lol

Over-spray? Yeah, loads all over the place, thank god for understanding wives eh?

It's just dust mate, as it sprays, the overspray dries before it even hits the floor. Already wiped it all up once with a duster and some polish, gotta do it again later, I like my house clean too

Was quoted between £95 and £120 to spray it from local spray shops.
