Default What Have I Done? (also Clutch Bleeding Nipple location)

    Hi,

In my haste, I noticed a bicycle style release valve on a pipe and mistook it for something else. I held it for a while and released a lot of air, and then suddenly yellow fluid came out? Car seems fine though but wondering if someone could tell me what it is, and what I've done by releasing all the air? Its this one here:

Also could someone tell me where the clutch bleed nipple on my 03 Vectra 1.8 is?

She'll need re-gassing then.....or not! Never used Air-Con in the 2 years I've owned this car
EDIT: Whoops So does that mean I released CFC's and not air? Don't I feel like a huge idiot

yep ac pressure valve ..... you will have released refrigerant into the air and killed lots of small fairys and pixies in the process ....

did you not get any compressor oil leak out ??? (yep that would have been the yellow stuff)

and more importantly what were you trying to vent

Yip it's the A/C gas low pressure side. Never wise to "not" use the system as it will run up huge bills from lack of use and is a real asset in a car even when it is cold!

lack of use will cause the compressor to fail the condenser to rot etc, 10 mins running every week is all it take to maintain it in tip top condition.

As said that was the aircon gas.

As for the bleed nipple its on the pipe coming out of the gearbox under the battery tray
