welcome to the broken spring club....

they normally snap on the last turn so there is little difference in the handling characterisitics ....but as it wont seat correctly there is a chance of a larger failure

    hope you get it sorted

Recently I was switching some springs on my car, and I didnt realise that one of the springs was broken on the bottom rung, until I saw the broken piece sitting on top of the wheel hub! The VX Springs have a well justified reputation

I had a broken spring on my last MOT.. My MOT is coming up again in a couple of months, i'd rather know if its got a broken spring before that time and get it fixed before.. Is it easy to see if a spring is broken?

fronts on full lock you can clearly see the spring - just have a poke with a screwdriver if you have the sleeves fitted remember to be careful and if necessary jack the car up as you dont want your head under there when you poke it and it fails

rears have a look from underneath and again can clealy see the whole spring

Replace them in pairs too for saftey.

Jack it up and with a torch you should be able to see if its broken or not.
