Question Im going to view a Vectra 2.2 SRI! any major faults to look for?

Ive posted on here last month as im looking for a black 2.2 sri. Im not having much luck but i have found a private seller "2003 2.2 Sri" for £2300 with part service history and 12 months mot. Its also just been serviced. Its done around 56,000 miles.
Its private and very well priced.

Have they all got a faulty fuel pump/regulator problem that the 2.2's have been accused of on watchdog?
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/watchdog/...ddenly_lo.html
and will i be able to tell if he has had it replaced?
shall i buy it if he claims that there has never been any faults of that kind? as i dont want it happening while im driving it lol.

Any other major things to check if they have been done? or things to look for in the engine on start up? Its will be a chain wont it? so i should check for rattles from it?
Im a newb with cars as i have only been driving a year and only owned 2 Focus's and was wondering what faults that Vectra's with that mileage and age can occur and what should have been done by him with it only having part service history.
    thanks for any info.

On a 2003 Vectra it will be the Z22SE engine which doesn't suffer with the fuel regulator problems.

As long as it's been looked after, the Z22SE engine is pretty bulletproof, although a little under powered in standard form. Check for a rattle on start up (or under load) which may indicate the chain needing changing. Check for blue smoke under the same conditions too.

Check the hp fuel pump mate if it's a siemans sticker then it's the old type if it says continental then it's been changed. To Change one of these is around £300

Shouldn't need to on the Z22SE, it's not a major problem with them like on the Z22YH (2.2 Direct)

i was wondering if it was just the 2.2 Direct that had the problem with the fuel pump reg. I certainly don't want to be paying out for things like that. There is no other major things is there if the chain is ok and there is no fuel pump problems??
I only know the basics of giving it a good test drive and going up and down the gears. checking the brake's and clutch etc.
How long do clutch's normally last in Vectra's would that be due one if its not done?

Should it have had regualar oil changes aswell? as there will only be part service history.
