    Default 150 tdci DMF ??

    Hi, I think I have convinced myself what the problem is after reading the post but I will ask the question !

    On increasing the RPM to 2000 when cold there is a rattle from the LHS of the engine when the revs are reducing to tic over. This is only when cold and only needs a very short drive for the noise to disappear.

    There is no noise with the clutch depressed.

    If this a DMF problem, has anyone any idea approx how long the DMF / clutch will last and on 56 plate with 117,000 miles is it worth the £900 to replace it.

    hi mate sounds like its the DMF to me (i could be wrong) but it do sound that way and you can get it done for like £700/800. and the flywheel will last as long as its there some people on here have them like this for years lol its a case of when the clutch go's not the flywheel.....i mine the flywheel spun and locked solid id say it would have stayed like that for years as it didnt wanna move at all i had to cut it off the car lol

    Mine was rattling like a biatch for well over 20k... cost me £600 cash all in for a clutch specialist near me to do the full LUK kit, the old part had welded itself together.

    Mine was done last month 1000 miles ago, now at 128k & it has totally transformed the motor

    Thanks for the replies guys, sounds like it could be worse, I will keep an eye / ear on it for now !
