Default 150 CDTI ...which map have you got?

    I'm now looking at this...

    Who has done your remap?
    Where are they?
    How much was it?
    Is it giving better performance?
    is it giving better economy?
    would you recommend them?

I'm going for a remap in August, an I have my sights set on an EDS one - with the EGR valve disabled.

    £450
RR 154/238lb before. RR 203/314lb after.
Yes big increase, very noticable, a real grunty pin in the seat pull from 2000-4500rpm.
Economy is up on average 3-4mpg for me.
Best thing i ever did, theres lots of other benefits to good remaps, they improve running of certain engine perameters, another benefit with mine, it bypasses the EGR!

@MCD - Presume this was not a mobile service? I've been quoted £195 from Elite: 150bhp up to 175bhp. They are mobile and the agent website is www.remapmyecu.co.uk

    Sounds too cheap to me

No its not mobile, well not to my knowledge!

    I did my research and went for the EDS remap for number of reasons;

    1. 888 Used to offer it as upgrade for the cdti.
    2. Its the same map as used on the Astra 888 cdti.
    3. there are a number of versions of it, so a good garage will test and install the best version to your car.
    4. MPG were selling it, i trust them implicitly as Ian is awesome with vauxhalls, plus i had the before and after rolling road session.
    5. There was a big list of other things that then map did which improved certain engine permameters which i liked (and cant remember)

Ive had it on for over 15000 miles now... never tire of the grunt to be honest!

Personally I would only get a map done where they could RR before and after. Or preferably do a live map. But thats just my opinion. Some have had generic maps and love them, but I have been bitten before!

Has anyone looked at the weblink I posted?... Is theirs tailored to the car or generic? Sorry to sound stupid but I am looking for a good fault free one. Getting toward £500 I may just give it a miss and put it towards my next car!

    You can't get a live map for a Vectra-C?

Anyway, I went for the EDS remap though the IPF route. Bought direct from EDS, it's around £475 delivered I believe and you can revert to standard yourself. It also allows for different levels of tuning, including EGR disabling. The level of the knowledge with the EDS remap is far beyond anything else I have seen, no other remap I have had or enquired about has been able to increase the RPM limit but they were able to accurately increase it to 5500rpm for me with no issues.

Performance is increased to 185-195bhp and around 300lbft.
Fuel economy uneffected when driving sensibly.
    Yes, it's well worth it.

I've got a BSR PPC remap.
Based in Sweden with UK agent but this is one which you can put on and take off the car yourself.
I paid around £400 I think but it now costs an eye-watering £800. (Partly because the £ has collapsed against the Euro and everything else).
Much better performance and good driveability.
I think the economy has improved but not a lot in it (especially since I use the extra performance ).
Definitely not. far too expensive and (deleted)-awful aftersales service.

When I bought mine there was lifetime service included but now after the first 2 years you have to pay an annual charge for any service you want. And that's on top of £800 - they must be joking.
