Default Problem with amplifier blowing fuse

I had a profesisonal install of an 800w Orion amp and sub in my Vectra 2.2 Dti. It has been running last 2 years with no issues until one day a few months ago it stopped working.
I discovered the fuse on the power lead in the engine bay had blown. I replaced it with the same ohm fuse and when I turned the ignition on this fuse popped as well.
I have checked the earth is secure and no other wires are touching each other on the amp connections.
Both fuses on the outside of the amp look ok. Has anyone got any idea what could be wrong?

Most likely the main power cable has worn somewhere against the chassis and is touching metal.

Yep, you need to check the full length of the power cable and look in detail at every connection.

Many thanks for the advice. I will investigate as suggested.
