    Default Fooled by...radiator mounts

Just thought I'd mention this. For three years I've had a noise that I've been certain is something loose in the exhaust system, it sounds like loose metal and it's loud. The sound seems to come from the middle of the car. I've taken it to various places but no one has found the fault, so I very nearly bought a new exhaust system. Yesterday looking for a possible fault for bad starting I happened to squeeze a hose attached to the radiator and it made a loud metalic sound. I put some lubricant on the rad mounting..noise gone, and I've suffered this for three years!

It just shows how a sound can travel giving you a false reading. Also other creaking sounds have gone, all because of one little radiator mounting.

On my previous Vectra-C (53 reg) they were replaced as part of Vauxhall reworks when it went in for servicing as it was a known issue.

    #### Vauxhall reworks is where the garage check for any known outstanding recalls, changes, problems, etc.
