Default P0650 mil control circuit malfunction code

P0650 Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) Control Circuit Malfunction

Hi i am getting the above code when plugging in to the diagnostics on my 05 plate facelift 1.9 cdti 150ps, i am getting the yellow car with spanner on starting the car (ps the car start and runs fine) the spanner and car then either goes off or stays for a mile or so before going out and can return during the journey, has anyone else had experience of the above and how did you sort it?

on searching the forum and net i can find the below possibles

    glow plugs
    dry joint on instrument cluster

i have removed the cluster for a look (and a wiggle of the connector) but the fault remains.

    any ideas??

ps i do not have the engine management yellow engine showing when the car and spanner are showing.

Default post not staying on "new posts"

Hi i am new to the site and can anyone tell me why my posts do not stay on the new posts page, they seem to drop off quickly before anyone can reply, or is it one of those things you need to pay subscription for.

    thanks

Probably because other new posts come along and push your post down the pecking order. If however someone replies to your post, it will bump it back up the list again.

Makes no difference whether you're a new member, regular member, or fully paid up member.

There is no conspiracy going on.

The member 'fm-online' said "Turned out to be a dry joint on the speedo pcb connector" but how to open the instrument panel and find this "joint" ?
    Where can i find ā tutorial ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Cheers.
