    I was reading on a honda site a while ago and one bloke was putting them in the oven and melting the sealant then pulling it apart and scraping the excess off,

    or maybe he was just very careful or used a stanley knife

    You need to heat the sealer up to split them. some people put them in an oven till it is soft then pull the lens off.

    I'd be worried about melting the interior wires in the oven.
