    Default Black break calipers

    Started out with this...

Used a wire brush with a LOT of elbow grease and got it down to this

    Painted...

I didn't want the yellow or red or blue I don't like that on cars personally. I wanted to sort of disguise them.

    What you think??

I used halfords own engine paint, satin finish (didn't want shiny calipers). It advertises to withstand temperatures of 600 degrees. I didn't use any sort of undercoat because it is metal paint and it says to paint directly to the metal surface. It's been on for about 2-3 months now and hasn't pealed of or flaked, it's solid. Every time I wash the car I give them a good clean too and they come up clean every time.

yeah, I used a wire brush untill the metal had a sheen on it you won't get the surface rusting colour off. Then I doused them with white spirits using a clean paint brush and left to dry. Once dry I painted on a coat of the paint and left to dry. Thats it, you could put two coats of paint on it you like but I think one is enough.

Black so much better, makes the wheel look bigger as it doesnt draw your eye to them and i see you actually didnt paint the retaining spring which is nice to see.
