without replacing the whole length it may be easier to go to a scrappy and cut a section off a vec then join it to your remaining pipe
The wifes vec show car is currently being stripped for parts before i scrap it, keep an eye on the sales section.. https://www.vectra-c.com/forum/garage_vehicle.php?do=view_vehicle&id=709

needs a "new" complete pipe ...weather its new or used you cannot cut it and need the whole length from where on the tank it fits ....

Did you apply some, "brute force and ignorance" to remove that filter, that was probably fine btw?

I've just had a similar incident happen to me, but instead the plastic female socket part was broken (part in red, hope stubopvectra doesnt mind me using his pic):

Can you buy the connector seperatly or do you have to buy the whole cable? If so, how easy is it to connect to the fuel tank? Do I have to lower the tank or remove anything to get access?

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Just in case its of any use to anyone....

Yes you do need a new cable fitted if only the socket part is damaged, as its all one piece! Fitting does also require the tank to be lowered! So be carefull changing that fuel filer!

Tried the jubilee clip fix but the pipe is smaller than the filter end so it wouldnt fit. so, I disconnected the pipe from under the rear bench and and pulled up the pipe, took the part number from it and ordered a new one from the stealers £18.80 inc. VAT (might see if I get discount for trade club).

For future reference the part number is : 24403456. This pipe goes from the fuel pump to the fuel filter.

    Regards

    Jim
