    Default 215/50/17 Tyre pressures

i,m a bit confused, the owners manual says 32 psi and a online site says 41psi, which is the right pressure,i checked my tyre pressures yesterday and they were at 40 psi

    Use the handbook figures.

The pressures for a 2.2 petrol are 32psi all round for a load of up to 3 people.

I run mine at that pressure regardless whether just me, or if I have a full load. No abnormal tyre wear in the 4 years I've had it.

I have the same issue with some websites, they come up with incorrect tyre pressures (and sizes)

As above, go with the handbook

That's a tad high unless you have other wheels on or it is an estate (for a 3.0 V6 CDTI up to 2006)
On the 215/50R17 they should be 38 front and 35 rear
On the 225/45R17 they should be 39 front and 35 rear

For maximum economy the handbook quotes 35 front and 35 back for up to 3 people.

The same as the 215/50/17 size.

33 psi all round for a load of up to 3 people.

    35 (f) & 42 (r) for a full load.
