Default Testing the boot release switch on a Signum (Pictures)

I have seen quite a few posts asking how to diagnose if the electrical boot release switch is at fault on the Signams when they fail to operate.

As I had my car in bits again I took a few pictures.

This is to diagnose why the boot mechanism motor isn't operating.

When you remove the boot lid carpet/panel you will see a round connector.

Bridge pins 4 (Brown with blue stripe) and 11 (Thick brown). If you hear the boot mechanism operate you now know the handle switch is at fault. There are a few posts showing how to repair this.

first picture is the connector you bridge to bypass the switch and the second is the connector wires going into the handle after the metal bar has been removed.

    Hope this helps.

I have fitted a new tailgate to my 08 Vectra 1.9 DTi. The rear wiper works fine but the 3rd brake light does not work and the boot cannot be opened using the push button. Also, the boot light does not come on when I open the boot using the screwdriver slot inside the boot. I have checked the wiring and all seems good although I had noticed there the connector at the fuse box had not located correctly. I have adjusted this and it appears to be seated properly now. Any ideas. I tested the cables at the microswitch at the boot release using a lamp tester but could not find any power. Any help please as I am at my wits end, lol
