    Default Vectra C 1.8LX 2004

    Good Morning All

Havent been on here for ages due to no issues which has been great.

However , now i have a problem and would like some advise if possible

I had my cam belt changed last week, and ever since the car idles around 700 and runs really lumpy, and feels like its struggling for air.

Ive been told it may be a temp guage fault, cars too hot and fuels burning before it reached the engine, or something called a CAMSEN??

But one of my friends told me it could be where the cam belt has been fitted and maybe not alligned properly, and may be a tooth or two out of where it should have been.

Would you think this could be the reason?

Its only started running lumpy since the cambelt has been changed.

Its going back in Tomorrow, and wondered if to ask him to check this

    Thanks

    Neil

Well if its only been running like this since the cambelt was changed then they did it wrong and it cannot be aligned correctly. I woudl say who ever did it had no idea what they where doing

I would go with cambelt being a tooth out - it's very easy to do when changing the belt on this engine if you're not paying attention, and didn't bother to test drive the car afterward. Cam position sensor fault would put on the emissions warning light and the engine into limp home mode. Unlikely to be temperature sensor too, as the engine can get very hot and still run perfectly well.

'only started running lumpy since the cambelt has been changed' is probably the big giveaway
