Default Help Please car at VX with P0234 - Boost Pressure Control Circuit Negative Deviation

    Hi

Driving into work this morning at at 55mph LHM! Shutdown and restarted to clear the fault and all was ok until I got to work and same again. Drove to VX dealer and got it on diags with the following error.

P0234 - 5A Boost Pressure Control Circuit Negative Deviation Present.

I think this is over boost as all the sensors have been replaced not too long ago. VX are saying to get the wastegate actuator rod lengthend to reduce the amount of boost.

If I get them to do it will it fix the problem?
    Thanks

Just give the boost sensor a clean with some carburettor cleaner , when was the last time you cleaned the inlet manifold

Have all of the pipes been checked for splits. Lengthening the actualtor is a last resort but it does work

    HI,

Intercooler pipes are brand new all round and vacuum pipe also brand new. I did give them a once over after the rebuild and all seem fine. I have to go to Devon this afternoon to get my Daughter. Its a 120 mile round trip so I have no choice but to lenthen the actuator

    Angry It's happened again!!!

    Guys,

This has happened again, twice in two days both between 1500 and 2500rpm.

I am going with this as the only possible sensor left in the entire engine bay to change is the MAF. Does anyone have any clear idea if the MAF and boost sensors work together to calculate right ratio's.

The actuator was adjusted at VX last time to lengthen it which did help but again the fault is back. I've lengthened it another half turn yesterday but had made no difference. I'm now getting concerned that if it gets lengthened anymore, then there will be a lack of boost. I can already feel that it is not as quick and slower on acceleration than before.

Just to be clear, all sensors except the MAF have been changed in the last 3 months and the boost sensor cleaned last night. All pipes checked inc vacuum which were also changed a month ago. No leaks, breaks nothing.

    Ideas anyone please?

Changing MAF might help you 'cause one friend of mine has suffered the same problem with his Zafira,he went to service where they replaced the MAF with brand new and the problem disappeared.

No need to change the MAF. The problem is with the variable geometry of the turbo. It is blocked and therefore it creates too much pressure.

Try to move the actuator on the turbo and see if it moves. IF it moves then the fault might be with the vacuum turbo solenoid.
