    Default Vectra C Alarm Siren

You probably all remember from an earlier post about the alarm problems I am having....still..... !!!!!
Car went into Vauxhall today for some professional advice......they said that there 'machine' had told them it was the actual siren box, and thats that, no other remedies !!!! I changed the siren box twelve months ago when I first started having the problems..... I bought it off ebay, but it made no real improvements.
It's going to cost me £140.00 for them to supply and fit a new one.
Can anyone offer me any further logical advice ?
    Many Thanks

If that's what they're saying, and they're so confident, get them to put in writing that you'll get a full refund if it doesn't solve your problems.

Of course there is a possibility the second hand one you got from eBay may have also had a fault.

Try this. Pull the power supply plug on the siren box and the cars horn will take over the job of making the noise when the alarm goes off, If it does not go off at any time after you do this you will have confirmation that it is the siren box thats at fault. When you remove the plug you will probably get the safeguard warning on the dash.

If they're going to fit a new one, please tell them, on behalf of all of us, that it better be a bit ****** louder than the standard one!

    It's so utterly utterly crap!

As said, I would just disconnect it. If it solves the problem, you will have a more effective alarm (horn) and will be quids in.

Has anyone else had this problem?
