Default PedalBox – Tuning for all Vectra’s

    Hey all,

I have, from another forum site, been looking at the PedalBox for the Vectra.

The Technology for it looks really good and the improvements in throttle response would be amazing in any engine Vectra. Like having a sports button on speed if that makes sense.

It is being supplied to the UK through Andrew at DTUK so it’s coming from a reputable supplier.

    http://www.pedal-box.co.uk/site/inde...t&content=5852

Quick blurb from the site: “Diesel Tuning UK would like to introduce the Pedal Box to the UK market from DTE of Germany. A simple yet effective throttle response modification designed to improve your driving experience. Fitting between the accelerator pedal and the ECU (the cars brain), on modern ‘drive-by-wire’ vehicles, the Pedal Box maximises the signal to give the smoothest and most effective response. Suited to both diesel and petrol vehicles the Pedal Box makes the vehicle more driveable in many ways..

Has anyone fitted this yet to their Vectra and if so what do they think?
I know Andrew quite wwll at DTUK so if there is enough interest in the system I could speak to him about doing some sort of group buy deal.

Let me know your thoughts all….

    Colin

I just spoke on PM to the guys at DTUK about the pedal box. They are selling them at the GTI international for £149 if anyone is going.

The box also fits all Vectra C's and they have yet to find a Vectra B that it does not fit.

The how to fitting bit of the pedalbox site is actualy from a vectra and shows how easy this is to fit.

The box it's self is swapable ebtween vauxhalls also... So in my case I can take it off the Vectra and put it on the Astra VXR for a play, then swap it back when i am finished etc....

From speaking to them I think there is a deal to be done if there is enough interest...

Think I have seen these things advertised before and concensus was they were not worth it. Just shortens the wires or something along those lines.

I am sure someone with a more mechanical mind will come along and gives the low down on it.

I think all this is is an electrical equivalent of taking up the slack of throttle cable

In rough terms I think that is right… Although from what I understand from people how have fitted it in Astra’s Seats etc… It makes a hell of a difference in the response of your car.

I know this is being used allot elsewhere and was surprised that no one has taken the plunge on here for one.

For the sake of a few notes you have a programmable and switchable throttle system. Seems like a bit of a no brainer to me.

I also think your definition of 'a few notes' needs some work dude...

No issue on puck up of my veccy at all.

I had a type r that was crap unless in vetch range but don't think a wire would have helped, a supercharger maybe lol

Is this designed so that the car 'feels' faster rather than acctually is.
Would be great to try one, although i find it rather easy to push the pedal all the way down all by myself within a matter of milliseconds, and im sure many other people do.
