Cheaper to trade in for a 2.0t or even a 2.8t v6 lol....

I have a 2.2direct mate and tbh the best thing you can do is panel filter and exhaust, after that your talking mega bucks with little gains.

You could do the airbox mod which will help the engine breathe a bit easier and give you better throttle response and loose a little of the flat spot.

A search of the how2 section should help you.

The none direct isnt restricted like the direct, the list is endless, there are many 2.2 flying round with 400bhp under the hood. But unless your a propper mod enthusiast then dont waste your cash. The price per bhp is far too high.

Tell me about it..........I have called a few re map places and they all have the same response....No sorry dont do that one.

Plus the gains are very small, but I would pay for one just to get shot of the flat spots and better economy. But £250 would be my limit tbh otherwise its wasted money for small return.

I have done airbox mod 1&2 with a pipercross panel filter and have noticed a better response and less flat spots, I was going to get an extra cold air feed to see if that to helps and then exhaust but might just save the money and get a 2.0T

The extra feed wont do a thing exept in your mind on this engine. Its only needed when the air needed out ways the air supplied and you wont get to that point on this engine, a 2.8 V6 Turbo maybe but not this. EDS do a map for the direct at about +10 bhp. You can fit a sports exhaust manifold and sports cat but no real point IMO. I was once informed that the flat spot is actually at the perfect average rev point for this engine. Its there as a consequence of mapping that point to be the most fuel efficient.

In my case, I feel no extra power with a K&N but it does respond better, which can only be good as I do so mis the responsiveness of good old carbs.
