    does anyone know if there is a how to on replacing the rear trialling arm bushes ?????

    There is, http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46991, it's for the rear upper control arms (aka banana arms). Some later posts on the discussion thread refer to changing just the bushes within the arms.

    i was editing my post to include more info as you replied. I did consider doing just the bushes but couldn't find them, also the arms on the car now look a bit rusty. I got a pair of arms off ebay for around £30 a pair.

    (same as ChrisBilly) I replaced mine recently, £30 off ebay, and it's not as hard as the how2 makes out, just make sure you've got a 6 inch socket extension to work from behind the rear sub-frame. And as a couple of people mentioned, there is a hole in the top of the rear sub-frame that's VERY easy to drop the nut in...
