Replace my TID with a dvd?

I changed my stereo for a sony one ages ago and still have the TID which just gives me the time and outside temp.... big whoop! I see I can change it for a GID or a CID but has anyone managed to mount a screen in there instead say for a reversing camera or maybe a DVD player. If you have can you advise on what screen you went for and if poss installation instructions. My theory is i can just take the current TID out of my dash (vectra life 54 plate) and put a mini screen in instead is that right?

I have the same as you, after market head unit with the half dead TID screen. I have wondered if there's a way of putting say a Tom Tom in there neatly giving a "built-in" sat nav, but it was only a thought lol. Would be good though!

I have tomtom on my iphone and after paying 100 notes for the mount then 50 for the app and another 50 i think it was for the subscription to HD traffic and speed cameras I ant afford another one but i thought a nice display screen in there for a reversing camera or a dvd player maybe possible.

Over on astraownersntwork a few people have put a tomtom there so am sure someone could point you in right direction on a screen.

P.s tomtom with traffic is ace. Everyone who gets in my car comments on how good it is. Defiantly better than sat nav I had before.

Anyway back on track.
