Default Programming key fob without security code?

    Morning,

I have a Vectra C SRi CDTi - basically, the unlock button on the keyfob has stopped working. - All other buttons work fine.

Question is, if I get a replacement / 2nd hand fob from ebay, will I be able to programme it by holding down the lock / unlock buttons whilst the ignition is in position 2?

The immobiliser is fine, so would just swap over the remote part.

Reason being, the car pass that came with the car doesn't match! - want to avoid having to purchase a new one from the dealers if possible.

    Many thanks!

Not the casing, its the actual remote locking circuitry that will be swapped.
I will be leaving the key blade and transponder the same.

Hes saying its the button itself... Not the casing....? The answer is no, the vectra cannot learn remotes in that fashion unlike the fords (i think) do.

If you're a dab hand at soldering, just swap over the microswitches from the ebay fob to your PCB.
