    confused CIM help please??

Story goes like this lol.. i bought a cheap damaged 3.2 gsi with light n/s front corner damage, it started and run fine, but since the body shop have had it and fitted a new inner wing, spot welding and had battery off for about a month it wont start now they have done all the work, had my mate who works at vauxhall use the tech 2 on it, but he could not spend much time on it to be fair, and basically the tech 2 will talk to 18 of the ecu's, but not three of the others, ecu and cim, he thought a damaged canbus wire, or possibly the cim could be the fault, ive since checked the wiring where the impact was and all seems to be fine, the starter motor is fine, ecu has power to it, i have the steering wheel warning light on, any ideas??

    regards bish

Check the abs module plug is fitted correct, clean the contacts if you have some contact cleaner handy.

Check passenger side of the dash board fuse box pull out and refit fuse 17 ( blue one)

check boot fuses pull out and refit all blue fuses.

i thought that at first, but 3 of them are not working, so dont think its that, my mate whos the head techi at vauxhall in cambridge thought it would be a damaged canbus wire around where the damage was, but that seems ok, but did mention there were probs with the cim on the early vectras

Get your mate from vx to 'borrow' a cim module, plug it in then see if tech2 can communicate with it.. if not then you know its a canbus issue..

'EDIT' just looking at autodata canbus diags it looks as if the canbus is only accociated with the modules you're talking about (may be totally wrong but but saying what I see).. and the cim is first in line from the obd2 socket... I'd try a cim first as these cause loads of havoc when they play up.
