    Default 1.9 (120cdti) Remap Questions

As some of you have seen my car was recently involved in a little bump and is now being repaired. Before this i did over 2500miles around Europe and the car didnt miss a beat it was a dream, there for i want to treat it

I have read so many threads about tuning boxes just increasing things and they can cause issues so balls remap seems the better way to go for me!

Now i travel 90 mile a day and currently i get about 630 miles from a full tank (give or take a few miles)

Now if i get the remap i wont see more than 150bhp which wont bother me but will my mpg / miles per tank stay the same? Will it increase? Will it decrease?

Has anyone in the Uk had theres remapped and how does it compare to before this was done and hows it changed?

Where offers this service that is Vectra C reputable?

Sorry for a million and 1 questions

    Kev

I am thinking of getting my 120 remapped at Mid Point Garage in Middlewich.

Its not the cheapest but it is a quality EDS remap.
Its £480 and it can increase the power to 150bhp but it gives it loads more torque which is more useful than the bhp increase.
Also they can remove the EGR and DPF from the ECU at no extra charge.

They reckon you will get better mpg at the end of it as well.

You never know they might do a discount for two of us doing a remap??

Since having my "150" remapped Kev, my fuel average has gone up from 41.8 to 46.3mpg I can never be bothered checking it correctly, but it certainly seems like it's better on the fuel. I do boot it alot more on slip roads too.

I've tried a DTUK green box, driven the same it does return a fuel saving, ignore the fuel comp, range etc as they will be incorrect as the box tricks the ECU into raising fuel pressure.

120 CDTi needs remapping. I never regreted mine because I can feel the performance improvement and fuel consumption is 0.2-0.5l/100km less (convert to mpg). Power increased from 114.3 to 153.5hp and torque 292->359Nm (sorry still european units). It's a Bosch program and I was given a 2-year warranty. Just need to change oil, oil- and air filters more often (like every 12-15k kilometers). Cost about £500, but worth every penny IMO
