    Default Best way to build up 314/345 calipers

    The spring thing at the front, how to put that back on without scratching all the new paint off the caliper??

    very very difficult to do, i tried masking tape where spring slides but to no avail, touch up afterwards and they look great

    Find your nearest rubber supplier and get a piece of 1mm thick neoprene rubber and place on the caliper where it catches, grease it or washing liquid to enable it to slide on the rubber, ill send you a bit if you cant get any HTH

    Ok thanks for the help guys, I got 1mm smooth flat glass packers, they should be ok to use u think?

    2 person method, hook in one side in place and get them to hold it there whilst you spring the other end of the clip in.

    yep worked well as we found out on Sunday when Dean replaced his ....
    one side has a few small marks (single person) the other is mark free (two persons).

    Ray, this one has always been the bain for me too, I have always had to touch up the damage after construction.

    I did once hear of someone who attached the clips before fitting to the car and was able on the bench to install with no damage,but have never actually done this myself.

    Sorted it tonite, bruit force, done them without anything bar my hands, little chip but fitted in fine, just need to get time to fit them now!
