    Wink

that is a fabulous write up andy and to be honest i use the majority of the methods and the equiptment that you have mentioned.
I will be soon investing in a PC but for now i use the good old hand method.

theres only one stage i do differently and that is i put #21 sealent on after my polish and before the wax stage.
I find that 21 gives an absolute magnifisent finish and so wet too.

    The stages I use:

1:wash using lambs wool wash mitt 2 bucket system.,and dry with Megs water magnet
    2:Meguiars clay bar.
3:Meguiars stage 1 and 2 which is paint cleaner followed by polish.
    4:Meguiars #21
    5:Meguiars stage 3 wax.

finally I always use #21 on my wheels and follow with the wax.

what andy said about the wash mitt and the aplicators and the microfibre cloths is spot on they are a must for the perfect finish.

by the way i use Meguiars scratch X for the swirls i find this to be very good.

yes get your paint as clean as poss with the products explained above then.

then with a meguiars applicator pad use something like scratch x or something simular not T cut though rub on gently to remove the swirls and buff off with microfibre cloth.

Also one of these will help: -

    http://www.motorgeek.co.uk/pinnacle-polishin-p-149.html

If it were me I'd buy one with another set of polishing pads.........why polishing pads well when swirls have been removed you can then maintain it using wax applied with the polishing pads

    Ok,

Well with Silver I would use the following:

    Wash - your favourite wash

    Clay - Meguiars Quik Clay

    Polish - Einszett Paint Polish

    Wax - Einszett Glanz Wax

Tyres - Either Einszett Tyre Foam or Poorboys Bold n Bright.

If your going to do the glass the Einszett Glas Polish is second to none!

Think that covers most of it, as for how it looks.

(these are borrowed off my good mate Andy C - He wont mind )

    Cheers,

    Johnny

    what zymol are you using?

The Cleaner Polish? Or the HD Cleanse?

To remove swirls a Porter Cable (PC) would have been used. But for applying polishes/waxes/glazes it would all be done by hand.

I know its not a Vectra (I used to have one.. but here is a pic of my golf after 9 hours and some zymol)
