i agree couldnt have said it better 3 coats is the perfect finish look at my results
Hope this isnt to thrifty but I have just bought my first Vec and fear it has had a life of going through autowashes by all the swirls on the bonnet, front and down the front of the wings, I love most of the Auto Glym products winning many "best at show" with super resin and wax over the years, but on recommendation off a friend with a black Vec b GSI I thought I would give Turtlewax colour magic a go and I have to say I am really impressed. Used today for the first time all of the swirls have gone so she is being buffed and waxed tomorrow and I'll post some pics... It cost me £6.99 but you can get it online for less than £5 but I wanted it TODAY, you know what its like when you get something in your head lol
you will of only covered the swirls mate, they will be back after a few washes.
A very fair point indeed, but you will be very lucky to get show paintwork buying any Vec c for £1700, so for a quick fix to make my car look more than acceptable for general driving the family around, for an outlay of £7 and a couple of hours of polishing I'm over the moon, it does say it will last upto 25 washes on the bottle and I hand wash my cars twice a week so this finish could possibly last 3 months which I dont think is to bad, only time will tell....
I don't know why you bother !
I just let this bloke do mine every weekend !

Very good write up! I'm picking up my Vectra this Friday and i plan on spending my whole weekend giving it the clean/detail of its life!
To all the people saying why bother, you would soon realize if you pulled up next to a regularly detailed version of your own car.
