    Default MOT Passed at Halfords

Halfords AutoCentre at Alban Retail Park, Warrington

I was a bit weary of using them because I assumed they would be trying to sell me something, which he sort of did lol...

Got to say I'm a little surprised, there is definately a couple of little thing I though they would pick up on but the only advisory I got was for a chip in the windscreen.

The bloke does seem to think my DMF has gone though, which explains the slight rattling noise on idle, reckons they can do it in about 5 hours for somewhere between £700 and £800.

But other than that litle bit of bad news I was well happy with a single advisory on a 52 plate with 140K on the clock.

Just got to renew the tax tonight now

Anyway I would well recommend halfords autocentre for MOT, as would the old man who's had his done there for a couple of years with good service. half price too! £27.48!!!

my parents have used them on their cars, and are really positive about our local ones, due to warrantys etc, all mine need doing at approved dealers, halfords autocentres are on that list as well, for both Seat and Nissan, Mums got a new vauxhall, halfords are approved by vauxhall as well.

I had my MOT done at a halfords centre today in Telford for the same price and passed with flying colours....I to was a little mmmmmmm they may find things to fail to bulk up the price lol

But an hour later and looks like my fuel pressure regulator or/and hp fuel pump have gone as it went into limp mode and eml fault code points to them boohoo....

I used to use Halfords in my neck of the woods until the Service Centre closed a number of years ago. I never could fault them. Any work they did was of high quality. Staff appeared to be well trained.

Agreed, I used Halfords (Service Department as it was called then) several years ago for my Rover (1994 - 1999)
Their quotes were very keen and used parts that were always in stock and readily available

They did oil and filter changes for little more than the cost of the filter and the oil (Duckhams Diesel)
They also performed a complete glow plug change, again for little more than the cost of the four glow plugs

I might look at them again, now that my car is out of warranty and can readily shop around
However, I have since moved and any saving would have to be worth the 20 mile round trip
