Default 2.0t edition 100 lumpy idle

yesterday whilst i was changing plugs on my gsi we thought we would have a look at brother inlaws lumpy idle on his 2.0t
its completly standard no mods but on tickover it sounds like it misses only way he can make it run abit better is to have aircon on all the time but its still misses a bit
had it on computer no faults reset ecu still the same so he tried new plugs still nothing so we went to halfords and bought a compression tester
    results came back
    no1 cylinder 9 bar
    no 2 cylinder 11 bar
    no 3 cylinder 11 bar
    no 4 cylinder 9 bar
checked in book and compression should be 9.5 bar
anybody else had this sort of problem is it going to be a head off job and send it away
any info what he could try would be a great help thanks

forgot to say the only mod that looks like has been done before he got it is it looks like its had a decat pipe fitted as where the cat under the should be is a nice shinney pipe so only boxes on the car is the precat pipe at manifold and the 2 boxes right at the back as soon as you take the revs up to about 900 the cars fine and doesnt seem to be loosing power as it feels very fast

Haynes quotes 12.4 BAR for each cylinder. Did you remove all 4 spark plugs at once, or just the plug for each cylinder you tested at that moment?

No, it sounds like the right method - take all plugs out at once, otherwise you create pressure that slows the crank down I guess.

No mate, that's the compression ratio, not the pressure reading.
