    Thumbs down bit gutted today

I ordered some g-max 40mm lowering springs last week from "venom motorsport" for my sxi dti.Today ive come to get them fitted and the mechanic says "i think there the wrong ones mate"-due to a knocking noise from the front shockers so obviously i check my sales invioce and the data on the website and all is ok,so then i pop down the garage to have a look whats the problem is for myself and i looks like the car is to heavy for the springs and the spring is way to compressed. Also two of the springs coils rub at the top of the shocker!! which also looks a miss. so iam a bit pi**ed off today and have no car for the weekend

can anybody suggest what the problem is????

-40's will need to have shortened shocks anyway, i don't know if the SXI has the SRi style shorter shocks, but you can't fit -40's to the standard lenght shocks as they will bottom all the time as the stroke will be too short..

Even with the sri shocks you will still be at their limit of reliable operation..

If the springs are coilbound then i would question if they are for the correct axle weight..

It is possible they may have given you wrong springs, as you do get different springs for bigger / heavier engines. I'm waiting on a Supersport kit coming from Venom, they better not mess it up
I think ANDY GSI had a problem with them regarding suspensions as well

You first need to make sure it is the right springs for the axle weight of your car, if they aint right, you dont want to be keeping them !

Well the shocks are shortened so they will work fine with -40's... but i'd only keep the springs if you're really sure they are the correct rate and axle weight .
