If a remap makes your car fail the MOT emissions test then either the remap is of poor quality, or there's an existing fault with the engine which the remap has made more prominent.

i'm just concerned about bore wash rumours mate not MOT issues , judging by the way the car drives i'd say the engines fit as a fiddle

Well, you mentioned emissions check - never heard of a remapper doing one of those. They don't valet the car either, BTW...

I would'nt bother paying the money for a remap on a gsi there is'nt much gain.

I gained around 25 bhp at the wheels. emissions are still ok even with main cat removed

I gained 14bhp at the wheels with a shed load more torque through the entire range and it also passed mot no problems not long ago. Depends what you consider worth while tbh when it comes to modding. Some people pay as much as i paid for my custom remap for an induction kit with very little gains on any car. For the price i and hagga paid, tbh i was happy with it

As for borewash, i know there were alot of issues originally with the standard remaps some people were pumping out, but as of yet, dont think many people have had the same problems with custom? Could be wrong though
