    Default Calling SIGNUM ELEGANCE owners...

    Folks,

Just seen a Signum Elegance 2004/04.
Didnt really want to look at an Elegance as the later 2004 and early 2005 came without front fogs, but have found one with and am going to look at it tomorrow.

Anyway, im not very fond of the interior trim......can anyone advise me what the overall car is like?

Comfort, ride quality, spec levels, etc?

I drive a 2001/51 Vectra-B at the moment and its and SRI so very well spec'd with half leather, etc.

What can I expect from an Elegance?

Also, one thing I detest is the black side and rear skirts, how easy are these changable for colour coded once and what other outside mod's are possible?
The one I have seen comes with the 16" 5-spoke's which look manky so first of all it would be the wheels that need upgrading. Are there any smoked rear lights available?

    Bye bye Vec B

I went from a 02 Vectra b 2.2dti Sri to a signum 1.9 cdti design the trim level is better than the Sri, half leather (same as vec b) but got sat nav, cruise control, auto lights, auto wipers, I think it rides better than the Sri (not as hard) mine is a 2005 facelift only skirt that is black is exhaust surround and front spoiler but easily painted or changed, in my opinion I prefer the facelift, hope this helps.

The Design model is great and ideally thats what I want, but its a balance between needs, pocket money and maintenance. This seems to be the first decent one I have seen, well genuine seller anyway. Its just the spec level of the Elegance, it seems somewhat "bland"??

I love my Vec-B, its also and SRI 2.2 DTI 130 and it will be a very reluctant changeover when I do.......so you can see my dilema.

I've got an Elegance, yes it is the base model, but still comes with plenty of toys to keep me happy. Its got front fogs as well!

It all depends what you class as "essential" really. To me leather seats aren't really needed, in fact can be a pain so it doesn't bother me.

http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=133627 some pics of mine, depending on your budget I got mine for 4000 on a 55 plate was an ex lease car so done 135000 but full vauxhall history and working in the trade and dealing with lease companys what ever the car wants it gets so that's another option, only thing in 15 months of owning I've had to do is clean erg valve and clean out the DPF (aswell as a service). Touch wood nothing else.

As said though, it looks bland to me, the outside can be tarted up I guess, what about the interior? How hard is that to change?

Leather is not essential to me, its just that the Elegance trim doesnt look very attractive.

Do they all come standard with rear sun blinds?

Also as its an early 2004, what steering wheel controls are they- buttons or wheel? Also, can the steering wheel and airbag be changed for the facelift one as I hate the pre-face.

That would be my ideal car, but cant afford it.
My B is getting old now, but its still as good as gold and I would have no problems keeping it for a while longer, but im just getting the itch to change.
This is a 2004/04 2.0 DTI Elegance with 75k on the clock and FSH, HPI Clear and old MOT's etc, 1 prev owner and current one had it 2 years. Has also had a new clutch in it. Whats it worth.....well its up for £2900, I reckon I could get it for around £2650. This is not a WIW thread, but is it worth that or am I going be bored with it and pay too much?
