    Default Swirl Valve bar has come off

    I have read the how 2 but i need a little help

    i read the problems people were having was the car going into limp mode and driving sluggish

    my car is driving fine but im still going to do the mod what i need to know is there are black grommet looking things on the engine do im leave these in place and clip the bar back onto theses once the mod is done also do i clip the bar back in any sort of order ??

    what sort of damage happens with the bar removed how much is new part if i plan on keeping the car long term i will replace with a new one i read around £250 plus labour is this right and is it a stealers only part ??

    also whats the part called ??

    Yes leave the round swirls alone!, fit the tap washers or plastic caps to the bar, Then place over swirls guided by fitting the third one from the left first (thats the motor driven one) the rest are loose & will move into line with the aid of a screw driver.

    its worth doing the actuator while your at it incase that fails in the future.

    i recently had a quote for supply and fit of £ 800.

    he wanted to do the timing belt while he was at it.

    Ive decided to give it a miss for now as dont think it would make much difference to performance, i may be wrong.

    anyone got a link to the actuator for a price ??

    will also be getting the timing belt done as i dont know when if at all its been changed

    There is a link www.swirlrepair.com is a cheapest way to fix intel manifold swirl flap bar
    . Only 37£ and it works fine, I fited on my one.

    In my experience the swirl valve bar came off but the actuator was still functioning as i could observe #3 valve turning, the motor is connected directly to this valve arm underneath the inlet manifold. This kit would have only been a short term measure, as when i removed my inlet manifold it was absolutely full of rock hard carbon and crud so my thoughts would be that the ball joints are exposed to excess stress due to the valves being blocked up, thus being harder to turn.
