Well, as most of you know I traded in the Vectra back in April.
The mileage was creeping up on it plus things were starting to go wrong with it and the running costs being a petrol. The VX dealership I used to be a spanner monkey at back in Swansea did me one hell of deal being an ex employee!
I was originally looking at getting the new Astra but a 1.7TD SRi with the optional 19" alloys was nearly £20,000!
Do I like the Insignia? In a nutshell.............nope. No offence to any owners but it's just that big gob and big fat 4rse! It also has the rear visibility of a Sherman tank! I've always liked the Chevy Cruze, especially the front end. And it's one of the very few cars on the road today that looks stunning with a boot. And after a test drive I was sold straight away.
So after a lot of number crunching and blagging I went for the Cruze. It's an LT model which is basically the top spec model with a 2.0 150bhp TD lump. It's fully loaded including anti-dazzle mirror, auto lights, auto wipers, rear parking sensors, 6 CD In-dash multi changer, Cruise Control, etc. It's based on the new Astra chassis, the centre dash and controls are Astra, the clocks, stalks are Insignia, but most important of all, the ultimate and best ever function that I love to bits............................A PROPER INDICATOR STALK THAT STAYS UP OR DOWN WHEN YOU INDICATE WITH NO FEAR OF THEM CANCELLING WHEN YOUR ABOUT TO TURN!!!!!!!
I went for the additional CS package which was released to celebrate it's success last year in both the WTCC and BTCC where the Cruze won the title in both. The package was white 18" multispoke alloys, lowered suspension, boot spoiler and velour mats. All this worked out cheaper than the Irmscher alloys I fancied! She is stunning to drive, much nicer than the Vectra I have to say and handles like a go kart!
So that's enough talk from me, I'll let the pictures do the talking.
