    Default Well back home now!

Well what a week, glad to be back home from hols.

It's been nothing but hassle with the car, Signum 150 CDTi. Mechanically it's been fine can't fault it and given me 540mls to the tank full, still got 50mls showing on the range, happy with that.

So out of 7 days holiday apart from travelling down from Derbyshire to Dorset and back we've only used the car down in Dorset on one day. The rest of the time it's been having work done.
Day 1 started with the trip down there. Day 2 the front spring broke wrecking a two week old tyre, before we had even got out of the lane where the cottage was. That was Saturday, so nowhere open to do a repair or get parts. We were recovered by Greenflag and thankfully given a Peugeot 406, as a runaround, but it was crap. So our Signum was in the garage over the weekend. By Monday evening the garage had fixed the front spring and also put a new one on the other side at my request and a new tyre. Picked the car up that day only to find paint damage to the front bumper and the grill pushed in. And worst still when we got back to the cottage we found a dent in the front passenger door. Didn't notice this as it was absolutely peeing it down when we collected it. The garage admitted liabilty and said they'd repair it no worries.
We used the car on the Tuesday and returned it to them on the Wednesday, and back with the crappy Peugoet. Only collected the Signum on Thursday evening as it had been in the bodyshop the two days.

Travelled back home today, Friday and the Signum was great thank god.
Got new paint on the front bumper and the door looks perfect again.

Wife fell over and twisted her knee Wednesday (that's before the pub visit) so she wasn't too good, but better now. The lights in the cottage fused so had to get them sorted out. Oh, and a wasps nest was above the door so had to be careful going in and out.
So not a very good holiday and about the worst we've had in many a year. We're just glad that spring didn't give way on the way down on the M5, that would have been interesting to say the least.
