bonnet latch

I completly screwed up trying to tighten my bonnet latch today and pulled the cover and not the cable.
I have been able to get the bumper off and can feel the cable end has come out of the latch.
I have never looked properly at a bonnet latch so don't know how it works.
If the cable is out how do I release the bonnet to sort out the cable?

Under tray off and reach up from the bottom to trigger the bonnet release.... Just be grateful yours is preface .. Facelift is much harder

Thats what I can't make sense of.
I can feel the latch but can't release it as I can't see where the cable pulled it.
And are we talking the bottom of the latch or the spring?

Done mine today after doing the exact same thing!
I pushed the lower bumper grille in and reached up.
If you look through the lh slats in the bonnet grille up to the center of under the bonnet you'll see the large pin, directly behind that is the metal loop/eye that the cable locates into. It'll be about an inch away from the end of the cable.
Try and get your hand in there and get someone to bounce on the front of the bonnet whilst you pull the eye with your fingers towards the passenger side until it pops.
