Seems that some can't get to grips with this Sections thing.
Just bumping this up again as nearly 2 in 10 posts are still being put into the wrong sections.
Maybe we should take heed of what some other forums do and just delete the threads instead of moving them

It's not hard to start a thread in the correct section.. Any repeat offenders i see will be moved from whatever incorrect section they are in to "off Topic"..

Can we combine the off topic and general chat thread? They seem to be used for the same things. I do get the distinction between general carp and interesting posts but I still think its a needless extra section

A few times i've looked and it's not been obvious straight away which section i've wanted to start a new thread. However as a moderator on another site, I feel your pain. You come on here to enjoy the site as much as we do, but spend time "housekeeping"
I'm still not 100% sure why a thread I started in electrical about earthing points got moved to bodywork? Surely it was more relevant in the electrical section, as if you need an earthing point you'll be doing something electrical???

Trying to read access the link I get this:
you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
- Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
- If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Seems like you had the issue I’ve always moaned about from way before I joined. I really can’t see what the issue was or I as the sections titles are very clear. The ironic thing about it apart from the library example of looking for a book is that if you ordered something of a menu where you have to read what you want the same people would complain if they were given something different to what it said on the menu. You don’t turn round and say anything of the menu you clearly point out a meal and say it’s name. How anyone cannot relate the title ‘not for problems post in the technical sections’ is beyond me. Or is I just like to do things right?
Like how if you had stayed in one of the hotels I used to run the maintenance of you would get running hot water from the hot tap and not cold water. Sorry just can’t get it I only do logic.
