Default Off to Fort Augustus this weekend

Another short week holiday and this time we chose the Scottish Highlands. Decided to hire a car as looking at putting about 1500 miles on it so got a little corsa for the journey. Oh my how that is going to be punished

    Plans are
    Visit Isle of Skye
    Climb Ben Nevis
Climb a couple of mountains in the Grampian Range
    Visit Loch Ness

Anything else worth visiting? Have been told the castle where they filmed Highlander is close to Fort Augustus?

Going to drive there in one hit as there are two of us so should be good if the weather stays nice!

It will be an easy enough drive in one hit mate, we're heading the opposite way on monday!

Forecast seems not too bad for next week. Head down to oban and jump on a ferry to mull, stunning island and a lovely day trip.. otherwise nice walking up Glencoe, applecross etc..

Enjoy as its a stunning part of the country

Cheers for the info, all this walking I may need a week off to recover! I went to Cairngorm in Feb and the view from the summit was stunning. Made me think lets go there for a week as the gf never been to the highlands
