engine managment light

apologies if this has been done to death on here,just gave my lad my old faithful vectra b 1.8 sri estate, managment light came on a month before i parted with it, put a reader on it no fault showin so i cancelled it,light gone,he had it a month and its back, seems to come on when restartin engine at operating temp, any advice would be very helpful cheers

If it only comes on intermittently, leave it
Simply switch off, wait 5 minutes, and restart

As a Vectra B, what year is it?
If in doubt, buy the AA repair cover that way it is in place should it all go bang!

its an 01 in great condition, well apart from the light,and its got 129 k under its belt and the only time it let me down was due to a battery,and as far as AA cover is concerned,he only just manages the petrol bit mate his priority is his lager fund, cheers anyway bud

So that when it breaks down you don't get a phone call for rescue
