Default small detail to my SRI

hey guys, this is the first time ive had a go at really detailing my car, dont get me wrong i wash my car most weekends quite religiously actually but i never really apply wax/clay bar etc etc. Since finding this website/Detailing world ive learnt alot of tips and what products to use so thought, since i had the day off and the weather was holding out, id put everything ive learnt into practice.
frstly i must apologise i completely forgot to get before pics so hopefully you'll enjoy the after pics, as i say the car was moderately clean from last weekends wash. I also forgot to get 'direct light' shots but to be honest i was glad i didnt cause the car is covered in swirls and light scratches.
The products and method i used where as follows:

firstly gave the vec a good hose down, i used 3 buckets 1 with megs NXT shampoo, one with cold clean water and the other had soapy water which i used with a sponge to wash the wheels.
after the hose down i proceded with the 2 bucket method and a megs lambswool mitt. I then hosed down again and got the car moderatly dry with a megs water magnet. I continued to clay the whole car, i was quite suprised at how much dirt it picked up as i clayed the car bout 4 months back. I then hosed down and gave the car another going over with the megs nxt shampoo and 2 bucket method. By this time the water was 'sheeting' off so was pretty easy to dry using the water magnet.
I left the car to stand whilst i made a brew and had a munch. After the short break i was absolutely ****ed but still felt the need to carry on so then using a megs applicator pad i used megs nxt wax and covered the whole car before buffing off with a micro fibre cloth. Im not to impressed with the wax as it seems to leave a residue which makes it real hard to buff off(maybe im appliying too much?) i also used tire shine forgot the name of it now but its brought the tyres up to a nice shine. So apart from the aching wrist im quite happy with the results of my 6 hour shift cleaning the car. As you can proberly tell the halfords 3for2 offer on megs products got abused lol
If theres any advise you guys could give please do so, and please be as critical as u like.
For the future im looking at getting some different products but until ive had the car properly detailed by a pro to remove the swirls and scratches i wont bother. Hope u enjoy once again sorry for the lack off pictures

    thanks for looking

Looks stunning, I am not a fan of Megs NXT, I find it leaves swirl like streaks because it is hard to remove properly on dark cars. I was going to get my swirls removed professionally , I was quoted £150 - £200 to get it done so bought a PC and did it myself after getting a few tips from Bryan (BLR123) the Detail Mysteir, and reading DW. If you enjoy detailing it is a worthwhile investment, I finished the car today not a swirl in sight, it looks the mutts now ...

yer been loooking into a PC but there just seems to be so many products to use/pads and finding the right combination sounds like a nightmare so i think id rather pay someone maybe twice a year or something to get it right everytime,......?

steven-if your car has never been clayed you'll be amazed at how much dirt it picks up.
