    Default 50w HIDS

Anyone running with 50w HIDs?? Just wanted to know how much better they are over 35w??

Are they road legal too?? Seen Hids direct selling them for £66.

Aftermarket HID kits aren't road legal (hence the seller having the disclaimer "for off road use only") unless you also go to the expense of fitting headlight washers and auto beam height adjusters. They will however go through an MOT (well currenty anyway).

35W's are more than adaquate, btw - IMHO.

Ive just fitted the 50w 4300k hid kit and imo its great, so much more light which is ideal for me as im mainly a night time driver. They will go through an mot yes but are not officially legal by any means.

just more white... as white as you can go before blue tint comes in .. I have 6000k but on 35W - IMO 35W is more than adequate

only thing then is you will need to change the main beam to white bulbs else it looks odd with a yellowish main in the white dip beam... I'm thinking of changing my HID to 4750K and putting my old main beam bulbs back in as white ones are useless.

6000k were too blue for me, 4300 not as white as Id expected, 5000k's will be fitted prior to the winter. I do need to change the main beam and foglight bulbs now though too, as chewy says they do look terribly yellow now compared to the Hids.
