    Default Real world mpg...

As the title suggests. If youve ever calculated it, what's your real world average mpg compared to what the car tells you?

I was quite surprised to find that my 2.2DTI is only achieving 34.5mpg while the display hovers around the 38mpg mark

My 2.2 DTi SRi shows an average of 41.5 on the GID at the minute. I reset this when I got the car back in November, and have travelled 12.5k miles since then, so this 41.5mpg is an average of 12.5k miles. I calculated my actual mpg on my last 2 tankfuls at 42-43mpg, so it seems about right, considering when I first reset it, it was showing 38, and has climbed since.

I only fitted the BC/GID about 5 weeks ago so I always did my Mileage the old fashioned way. I was very surprised to see that my readings on the BC are spot on to what I get doing it the old fashioned way.

I used to get between 26-28 mpg out of my old siggy 2.0t mate so dont worry, it just depends on how heavy your right foot is. They are also good for mid 40's on a long run too.

Christ, do you have your foot planted in to the floor permanently.

I achieve 50 mpg average. Just filled up this morning and the tank had lasted 650 miles. The red fuel light had just started flashing.

Think your engine must need a service.
