    Default Anyone help ??

Have decided to take out the front drivers window. I want to tint it with 50% film.

The nut has been removed from the regulator. The problem is i still cant remove the window glass- proving a pain. The rubber rail guide is holding the glass and want some help on how to free the glass please!

I thought front windows were only allowed to be tinted 30% max?

edit - yep, that's correct. They must allow 70% of light through, so tinting your windows by 50% will be illegal.

    http://www.ukwindowtints.co.uk/Law.htm

    http://www.window-tint.co.uk/content...w-tinting-laws

and if you're factory fit windows are already tinted by 10%, then you can only tint by another 20% max.

Yes i know but 50% is still okay. Anything less than this then its more risky. Anyway managed to do this even though it was not straight forward

If its worth doing do it right

Says who? The guy down the pub, or the bloke on the market who sold you the tinting material?

If you've got a website link that says 50% is ok, then lets have it. I've posted 2 links that say 30% maximum, and googling will produce 100's more.

Be prepared to have to remove it at the side of the road when plod pull you over. To refuse will incur a fine and possible vehicle impoundment.

As has been said, 50% on the front or front side is illegal, don't do it. Most Vec's already have a 30% tinit there, so NO more is legal

Let him get on with it.

Will be funny to know that he will be having to remove it and would have wasted his money............
