Default Vectra C:- tyres, brakes, and suspension

    Handling!
The Vectra is a rare track tool! My GSI has been upgraded gradually since last October and now has:
Bilstein B12 suspension, which includes Eibach springs.
EBC rotors and 'yellow stuff' pads all round.
I bought some motul 600 racing brake fluid but i ended up with Halfords own race fluid.
The wheels are the Team dynamics Pro race 1.2's, with the Federal 595RS-R dry bias tyres.
Last saturday I took it to the Angelsey circuit, as used by 5th gear!
    http://www.angleseycircuit.com/
The circuit is a bit tight in places with some very slow hairpin type corners, not ideal territory for the 1.5 ton Vectra. The brakes stood up well, but ultimatley it needs bigger brakes. The suspension works well with controlled body roll.
The understeer is quite limiting, I might try the same tyre pressure all round next time, that should loosen the back nicely. Roll on Donnington next month. The National track is much more suited to the Vectra!
    1 lap...Sat 18-6-2011:

there was a wide selection of cars there, the Caterhams, radiacals, and a Rage buggy, all were really quick. there were a number of clubs present including Saabs, MR2's, S2000's.
The day was very easy going, there were a couple of red flags but they were just stalled spinners, there were no crashes in a combined mileage of 6k.

front N/S tyre after 120 track miles:

How come you didn't use the motul fluid? Is the halfords fluid just dot 5.1 stuff or something fancy? What are b12's? Coilovers? It'll be interesting to see a standard gsi's corner speed compared to yours.

Cheers everybody! the B12 is a Bilstein kit that is advertised as:
    -40mm H&R springs.
    B8 short travel shocks.
I actually recieved the Eibachs and Bilstein B6 30% uprated shocks.
The halfords brake fluid is called DOT4 racing fluid, which maintained the pedal really well. I started getting brake vibration towards the end, not sure if it is because the wheels need a rebalance or related to the discs/pads!
The max speed on the GPS was 103mph on the sweeping right up to the hairpin!

The vibration can be deposits on the disc/pad, quite common when pushing brakes hard on a track day. Never tracked my vectra but i do regularly take a converted 1.25 fiesta to Cadwell.
